In a report over Bandila newscast of ABS-CBN, POEA announced that the job orders are for nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, medical technologists, and caregivers.
Commenting on these job vacancies, POEA administrator Hans Leo Cacdac said that "these gives proper options to our kababayans, our nurses."
"They can freely choose whether or not they should stay and serve the medical institutions here or go elsewhere," he added.
Nurses must go through stringent process to be able to work in the US, including taking the US nurse licensure exam or NCLEX, and English proficiency exam such as IELTS.
POEA advises health workers to check their website (www.poea.gov.ph) for the list of approved job orders and the corresponding licensed manpower agencies.
As of July 20, 2015, here are some of the listed job orders for US:
- 200 Registered Nurses - AMERICAN PRIME MANPOWER SERVICES INC
- 6 Nurses - LRC MANPOWER SERVICES INTERNATIONAL INC
- 19 Occupational Therapists - MANPOWER ALLIANCE CORP
- 6 Physical Therapists - CIRRUS GLOBAL INC
- 26 PTs and OTs - CAREER PLANNERS SPECIALIST INTERNATIONAL INC

POEA expects more job orders for nurses and healthcare professionals to come in from countries of US, Canada, United Kingdom and Ireland due to aging population of these countries.
