May 2015 Visa Bulletin: Retrogression for EB3 - Philippines

United States Department of State has posted the upcoming May 2015 Visa Bulletin, and it bears bad news for Philippine nurses as cut-off date for processing has retrogressed once again.

The latest Visa Bulletin summarizes the availability of immigrant numbers for May 2015, and the cut-off of priority date has moved back to July 1, 2007. Ouch.

That's a shocking backwards of 7 years and 3 months from April 2015 Visa Bulletin which posted October 1, 2014 cut-off date. Here's the full table for Employment Based Category:

US Department of State explained that the EB3 Philippine visa retrogression is due to application/cases filed in previous months when they rapidly advanced the processing.

"This cut-off date had also been advanced very rapidly in an effort to generate sufficient demand to fully utilize all available numbers. The current rate of increase in demand has required the retrogression of this cut-off date for the month of May, in an attempt to hold number use within the annual limit for this preference category."
