Nursing educator Carl Balita divulged the breaking news in his social media page, posting that there will be 5 new BON members. Incumbent chairwoman Carmencita Abaquin and member Pearl Po stays, Balita noted.

Based on Republic Act 9173 or the Philippine Nursing Act of 2002, the PRC Board of Nursing is composed of one Chairperson and six members. They shall be appointed by the President of the Philippines, from the nominees given by PNA and will hold office for 3 years and until their successors have been appointed.
ACT Teachers partylist leader Caster Palaganas divulged in his page the five new members of the Board.
